This service brings a variety of fiction and non-fiction books to 9,389 primary school pupils and their teachers around the county. It operates from a dedicated library van. Each school is visited once per term and the children or their teachers choose their books from a selection of 4,000 items available on the shelves. 71,000 items were borrowed in 2006. There is also a Teachers' Collection on the van .This comprises of a selection of books and A.V. material purchased for the teachers to help them in their work.
